We have recently been working on getting a class started at the Hawaii Academy facility. We are also going to be starting the next Parkour Boot Camp at Crossfit Oahu, so without excuses, there will be Parkour going on this island every day of the week. Stay tune for the official date annoucements.
As you all already know, to start up and to tease you a bit we have decided to plan a seminar. This seminar will be held on Sunday the 13th of December, from 10:00am to 3pm with 1hr lunch.

"My name is Catherine Madeo. I am a senior at Columbia University in NYC studying anthropology. I am doing my thesis on Parkour. I am focusing my thesis on two spaces that a traceur/traceures occupies. The urban (or suburban) sites that he/she trains in and the interface sites with which he/she engages in with the mediated form of Parkour. The thesis will of course include the origins of Parkour as well as a discussion of Parkour today bearing in mind these two differing "spaces". It has been my experience with traceurs/traceures that they come from many different backgrounds. The survey is a way to bridge the gap of how traceurs/traceures are represented. It's my effort at locating the specific or particular backgrounds of a traceur, and to better how they came to find Parkour, how often they train, use various forms of media, etc. I hope that the survey will aid my project in presenting a truer representation of Parkour than what I find in the media."
Winter's coming. That means rain. Do you have to head home or stay inside? Dan Edwardes of Parkour Generations says, "Most definitely not... difficult weather conditions can provide an entirely new set of challenges through which we can learn, grow, and improve..."
Most likely watched by most of you already, it is the meaning of this video that puts it on this week's Video Review. Known by most of you for his talent and dedication, his work done and his inspiring movement, Daniel Ilabaca this time tells it the way he sees it, opening his mind to his personal view on movement and parkour. A great piece of art with some great movement and even better spoken words. A must watch for any practitioner of the discipline.
Daniel Ilabaca has produced a new video called Choose Not To Fall. There's a soft music track with Ilabaca talking about how parkour has effected him and how he thinks. He talks about how parkour saved him, and where it is taking him. The best quote in this video is the one that wraps the video up: "If you're afraid to fall, you fall because you are afraid. Everything is choice." This is a great video, and it shows what develops, mentally and physically, after years and years of hard work. Read more to watch this truly inspirational video.
