If you think you can give anyone some floor space you can annouce it on the this THREAD on the APK forum. You can also check the itineray HERE we will be discussin any changes during the jam tomorrow. This will be a great opportunity to interact with some more experience practicioners and some new familiar and friendly faces. Johnny "Sticky" Budden has started a fundraiser called "1000 Miles of Parkour." He's raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which is "the only national organisation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland dedicated to the support of people with MND and those who care for them." Their mission is to "fund and promote research to bring about an end to MND. Until then we will do all that we can to enable everyone with MND to receive the best care, achieve the highest quality of life possible, and die with dignity. We will also do all that we can to support the families and carers of people with MND." To raise money, Sticky is going to run, jump, climb, crawl, roll, and vault any obstacle in his path from the northern tip of the British Isles to Paris, where Parkour was invented. Sticky isn't in this alone though - he's put together this video to show you how many people are with him cheering him on this journey.

Rafe Kelly, or Faelcind from the Parkour.NET forums, of Washington Parkour and Parkour Visions just published this article. It's a response to an article he wrote years ago, which because the de-facto manifesto of the anti-competition movement... "Two years ago I wrote an article about my opposition to competition with in Parkour. It was well received within the Parkour community and I think in many ways came to represent the anti-competition stance, in this article I am going show why my position has changed."

Levi Meeuwenberg of The Tribe writes... To start off this year with something new, I've created a new project to help raise some money for the Parkour Visions project "Teach at-risk youth to overcome obstacles through parkour" on my new personal blog site. In a nutshell what I'm doing is having people donate for the cause, and doing a backflip for each donation. You can read more about the details on my site, SkyNative.com , and also to learn more about the project I'm raising money for you can go here.
I'd also really appreciate it if you could post a news item on any community sites and facebook groups you are a part of to spread the word about the project. Here is a short promo video to help explain what I'm doing! |
