Cody Beltramo from Chicago stars in this sweet new music video with King Sparrow. "It's pretty long.  It's pretty much 3 different versions of the same music video.  The best version (the story and band shots combined) starts at 12:23.  Second best one is the pure story version starts at 1:30.  Then there's band interviews before and after all the videos.  Bloopers start at 17:34. Suicide Girls interviews David Belle

Suicide Girls is a modeling site "founded on the belief that creativity, personality and intelligence are not incompatible with sexy, compelling entertainment, and millions of people agree. The site mixes the smarts, enthusiasm and DIY attitude of the best music and alternative culture sites with an unapologetic, grassroots approach to sexuality." - Suicide girls site includes paid content not suitable for younger viewers.

"Some people choose the easiest path through life; David Belle prefers to take the most interesting. As the world's premier exponent of parkour,a physical discipline of movement that's as much a philosophy as it is a sport, Belle has carved a career out of taking the unconventional route... [They] called Belle up at his home in Corbeil-Essonnes, in the southern suburbs of Paris to find out more. With the help of a translator, [they] spoke about the new movie, the stunts it features, the origins of parkour and where it's taking him now." Interview Link.

It's a show on the National Geographic Channel where they focus on applying scientific principles and applications to different combat styles. They have a lot of custom built equipment to analyze human movement and kinesiology, and in this video clip they decided to use that for a non-combative purpose: Parkour. They invited Daniel Ilabaca in to play on their scaffolding setup, and they analyzed the results with some extremely interesting outcomes!

Two New Barefoot Running Articles

Saturday, 30 January 2010
It seems like barefoot running isn't just a passing fad - it's drawing more and more attention from scientists all the time. A new audio clip article from NPR (National Public Radio) discusses the idea that humans were meant to be barefoot, and that people who run barefoot generate far less impact with a ball-heel strike, rather than a heel-ball strike. The second article from Boston College's The Heights talks a lot about the shoe industry and how (and why) shoes are causing more injuries. There's even a quote from a local Boston traceur who enjoys training barefoot.
