It seems like barefoot running isn't just a passing fad - it's drawing more and more attention from scientists all the time. A new audio clip article from NPR (National Public Radio) discusses the idea that humans were meant to be barefoot, and that people who run barefoot generate far less impact with a ball-heel strike, rather than a heel-ball strike. The second article from Boston College's The Heights talks a lot about the shoe industry and how (and why) shoes are causing more injuries. There's even a quote from a local Boston traceur who enjoys training barefoot.
